Last Tuesday the sun came out with perfect timing for my first shoot in ages: a collaboration with local talent in the form make-up artist Sabina Ventriglia and graduate designer Claudia Biele. I rarely shoot in my hometown these days so it was really refreshing and exciting to discover more local people to work with and this fantastic location that Claudia sourced. In order to have the face lit properly this time we used aluminum foil wrapped around a big board, that we held in front of her face. That way you don't lose detail in the face, and still get the gorgeous orange glow behind her. And on top of that it's a very cheap method with maximum effect.</div></div>

Hyde Park meet up: photographers' picnic

On Saturday the long-awaited photographers' picnic in the park came, organised by the lovely Kitty Gallannaugh way back in January! Sadly Kitty was unable to make it, but I hope the crazy amounts of behind the scenes photos and video footage will make her feel like she was there ♥ <br /><br />First of all: <b>GROUP SHOT</b>! I had to comp myself into this one as we had nowhere to balance the camera - I apologise if I've made any major Photoshop fails with this one as I'm super ill right now and editing this was a bit of a struggle with a headache!<br /><br /><img src="http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z338/dismantlerepair_storage2/_MG_1568.jpg" width="650" /><br /><br />Bizarrely enough I didn't actually end up taking that many behind the scenes things myself, so here are some picks from the albums I've seen so far on Facebook! More Food Photography

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I just love to photograph food. Not only does the subject always look good, but also with just a few small steps you can easily achieve great shots. What you need when taking pictures of food is a good strong white side light, that almost blows it out (best is natural light by the window). Next you'll need a shallow depth of field (With the Canon 50mm 1.8 no problem). And last you'll need a good low angle to shoot the photos. But the last one is to taste of course.
